Urban should consist public spaces such as parks and plaza. Together with the streets, landmark, nodes (focal point, intersections etc), edges (buildings, walls or physical/natural boundary); it actually shape the city and giving a mind map to the visitor or permanent residence.
Al-Corniche, Doha; a waterfront park with jogging, picnic, fishing and other facilities

I praise Doha for maintaining their popular edges - Al Corniche; it is specially improve and design for public usage. This corniche is actualy a water front, nicely landscape, maintain and become a picnic and jogging spot for urban residence.

I wish my residence town - JB will do the same, without so much concentration on building a commercial and business-style-leisure as planned and construct at Danga Bay.

In Doha again

It has been 3 months since I write on this blog. So this will be my first posting for this year..
Actually I cannot remember the password correctly! Until I come back here to Doha and found my notes..

Yesterday after 2 days in Doha, I persuaded hubby to visit Souq Waqif or Souq Iran in Doha. A few decades a go; almost 100% of merchant originated from Iran, thus it is how it got its famous name. But now, there is Indian merchants and others from Gulf-state also; especially selling spices and Turkish prayer mat.

I like the Iranian Crepe there..
ALAS.. after we hopelessly lost our way into the complicated grid iron small street..or passage inside the Souq; it is not there. Asking the next door owner, he mentioned "hallas.. gone.. back to Iran". I feel really sad. It is just one of the souq character, one of its typhology..

For me, I miss the crepe with honey, egg and cheese spread.. very yummy.
So i decide to post my photo collections of the crepe.. for nostalgia.. uhuk..

How they made a crepe as shown in 1st photo.. sort of lempeng style. Topped with honey, cheese and egg!
Normally we eat it at a simple chair, outside the shop, in the middle of small passageway together with other customer..
